What Are Macros in mAIscribe?
Macros in mAIscribe let you create shortcuts for frequently used notes, such as UTI treatment plans, skin check templates, checklists and more.
Instead of typing the same information repeatedly, you can create a Macro once and insert it into your notes instantly with a simple shortcut.
This is no different from what you might already use in your EMR.
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Use Macros in mAIscribe
1. Access the Macros Feature

Open mAIscribe and navigate to the Macros section on the left-hand menu or click here.

Here, you'll see a list of your existing Macros (if any) and an option to create a new one.
2. Create a New Macro

Click the "+ Create Macro" button.

Enter a Macro Name (e.g., “UTI Treatment”).

Choose a Macro Shortcut (e.g.,
uti/

Type your Macro Content, such as a treatment plan or checklist.
3. Save and Use Your Macro

Click “Save Macro” to store it.

When writing notes, simply type the Macro Shortcut (

), and mAIscribe will instantly expand it into your saved text.
Pro Tips for Using Macros Effectively
Avoid accidental insertions – Add a special character (like /
) at the end of your shortcut to prevent triggering a Macro unintentionally.
📝 Use Macros for checklists – Perfect for long assessment templates or common conditions like diabetes reviews.
Guide the AI – You can use a Macro in the Context box and tell the AI your notes should follow a particular template or check-list.
