How to use Maia with your EMR

A step-by-step guide to syncing patient data from your EMR to mAIscribe using Maia - your new desktop assistant.

Before You Begin:

  • You must have Maia installed and running (see install guide here).

  • You must have Maia opened in your Windows
    • Go into your Windows Start tab
    • Search "Maia"
    • Open it and login with your credentials
    • It is now running in the background
  • Log into your EMR and open a patient record

Note: Maia is currently available for doctors using Best Practice. Expanding to other EMRs are in the roadmap.

Sync Workflow

  1. Open the patient record 

  2. On your Google browser, open mAIscribe

  3. Click the "Start" button and start recording. mAIscribe will detect the patient record you have open. If you have more than one record open, a pop up will appear asking to select the correct record.

  4. Maia will bring the patient’s data into the Medical History column and surface Service Opportunities. This can take up to 30 seconds.

  5. Continue with your consultation and recording as usual.

  6. The Service Opportunities will update as the consultation progresses, so you can review them at the end of the appointment as well.
