How to use Maia with your EMR

A step-by-step guide to syncing patient data from your EMR to mAIscribe using Maia - your new Medical AI Agent (MAIA)

Before You Begin:

  • You must have Maia installed and running (see install guide here).

  • You must have Maia (mAIscribe Sync) opened in your Windows
    • Go into your Windows Start tab
    • Search "mAiscribe Sync"
    • Open it and login with your credentials
    • It is now running in the background
  • Log into your EMR and open a patient record

Note: Maia is currently available for doctors using Best Practice. Expanding to other EMRs are in the roadmap.

Sync Workflow

  1. Open the patient record 

  2. On your Google browser, open mAIscribe

  3. Click the "Start" button and start recording. mAIscribe will identify the patient record you have open. If you have more than one record open, a pop up will appear asking to select the correct record.

  4. Maia will pull the patient’s data into the Medical History column and it will generate the Service Opportunities in the Action Assistant columns. This can take up to 30 seconds.

  5. Continue with your consultation and recording as usual.

  6. The Service Opportunities will update as the consultation progresses, so check back at the end of the appointment for new opportunities (e.g. to rebook patient or include, if time permits, an extra item).
