What is MBS Helper and how can you use it to support accurate and compliant billing

What is MBS Helper?

MBS Helper is a revolutionary billing support feature within mAIscribe, designed to assist Australian doctors with accurate Medicare billing.

It uses rules-based logic that surfaces relevant combinations of MBS item numbers for clinician review helping support accurate billing and reduce errors.

It sits inside the Assistant panel in mAIscribe:

How Does It Work?

Step 1: Complete your consultation as usual.

Step 2: Choose the type of consultation - Face-to-Face, Telehealth Phone or Telehealth Video - so it knows which item numbers to use.

Step 3: End the recording by clicking "Finish Recording"  and MBS Helper will surface relevant MBS item numbers for clinician review based on the duration and content of your consultation.

Step 4: Review, give it feedback (green ticker/red x), and finalise your billing

Note: At present, this feature is exclusively available for General Practitioners (GPs), but we are actively exploring the possibility of extending it to Non-GP Specialists in the future.
